I am so excited to share the results from our (bittersweet) last HHC Championship Meet with the Lady Cubs from yesterday! WOW!
I would like to start with the end results don't matter. Our goal going into the meet yesterday was to continue to improve as we have been throughout this very strange and challenging season. Our Lady Cubs accepted the challenge and did exactly as we asked!
All three relays posted a best time. For the first time, our 200 Free Relay team all went under :30 in their leg. We had seven PR's throughout the day...we just couldn't ask for too much more. Numbers, we could always use more swimmers - but aside from being outnumbered, the girls competed. Swimming is hard. Swimming in a highly competitive conference is challenging. There are some incredibly talented girls in this conference that will swim for their colleges next year - that kind of competition makes you better! To embrace that kind of mentality and let that fuel your drive, work ethic, and passion for anything you do, only makes you and your team stronger and better!
While we finished at the bottom of the Conference, we are very excited about the opportunities we have coming in the Sectional meet in a few weeks. We are also very excited about the numbers and the talent coming next year with our freshman class. We will continue to grow, commit, and get stronger as individuals and as a team.
The overall finish order for the day was: Floyd Central 386, Jeffersonville 241, Seymour 153, Columbus East 151, Bedford 129, New Albany 107, Jennings County 90, and Madison 62.
