Girls Varsity Cheerleading
This week marks the first official week for fall sports! The rosters are set and our first uniforms were handed out today. We are also slowly receiving all new warm-ups, backpacks, poms, and uniforms as well. The girls are excited to be introduced tomorrow at the Jamboree and then cheer their first game during the Seymour scrimmage on the 16th! They have worked super hard this summer and cannot wait to showcase all they've learned. Come out and say hello to them at tomorrow night's jamboree which begins at 6:30! We will be selling some retired uniforms, warm-ups, and pom-poms so please spread the word!
The MCHS Cheerleaders have been working super hard all summer! They have been practicing since March! They not only have had basic cheer practices to learn cheers, chants, and stunts, but have also been conditioning and attending tumbling classes as well! They have already attended both a stunt clinic and a choreography camp. We will travel to Charlestown July 29-31 for our first team UCA camp. We are so proud of their hard work and cannot wait to showcase it to everyone soon! In addition, the girls have worked hard to fundraise and generate sponsors to purchase new uniforms. I am excited to say that we will now have new uniforms, new pom poms, and most excitingly- two HUGE rolled mats for stunts and tumbling. Thank you all so much for supporting MCHS Cheer!
Just a reminder- we have our Varsity fitting for uniforms today after school. We will meet the normal time until 5:30. Please look over the designs and prices and make sure your daughter knows what items she will be ordering today. Remember that the bag and spirit wear is optional. I will share a link here later for us to monitor the orders in real time. Once the order is placed, you will each be able to view and pay your invoices via the link/portal as well. Stay tuned!
The Madison Consolidated High School Cheerleading Squad is asking for your support to help sponsor our athletes in the 2019-2020 season. We have a large, new squad of 25 girls, this is our biggest squad yet! We have such high hopes and goals for this upcoming season. Our first and foremost goal is to raise enough money for mats. We would love to advance in both tumbling and stunting, but cannot do so safely without adequate mats. We would also love the ability to go to cheer and tumbling camps and clinics. Additionally, with a squad of this size, we do not have enough uniforms. Community support is very important to our cause. Monies raised through fundraising activities and donations, like this one, affect an individual and/or families currently participating in the MCHS Cheerleading program, by lowering expenses. Your donation will help support these athletes as they represent their school and our beautiful community at games and at school. Your donations affect more than just the immediate future of these athletes; it affects the choices of colleges, careers, and future families in our community. Your participation will have a far-reaching effect as we watch these athletes grow into our future community leaders.
Please see the Sponsorship Letter under the "Team Files" section for sponsorship opportunities and options. You will also find a link to our GoFundMe Campaign below as well. Thank you in advance for supporting Madison Athletics!
The 2019-2020 cheerleaders started conditioning this month and they have been working hard. Starting in May, they will begin basic practices twice a week, while continuing to condition twice a week as well. Many of the girls have been taking advantage of Open Gyms at Madison Gymnastics World (MGW) 1-3x a week as well. On Wednesday, Cheerleaders will travel to MGW from 4-5:30 for their first, private tumbling class. The cheerleaders plan to start this tumbling class once a week soon as well. I am very proud of their progress and cannot wait to see how much they achieve this year!
Attention all new cheerleaders- there will be an important meeting for cheerleaders and their parents on Wednesday, April 3 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will take place in Mrs. Oliver's room M201. We will discuss the schedule, rules and regulations, fundraising opportunities, and plans for the summer and upcoming season. Please bring your summer vacation dates as well. I look forward to meeting you all!
Great job by all candidates who tried out today! Congratulations to the following students who made the squad!
