(H) vs Batesville High School

Madison Consolidated HS & MS Athletics 70
Batesville High School 97
The Cubs hosted their last home meet of the regular season against Batesville in a close contest. Combined team scores had the Cubs on top of the Bulldogs with a score of 173-158. The Lady Cubs fell just short with a score of 97-70, while the Cubs ended the season with a 103-61 win.

The last few weeks have been tedious practice grinds where we have worked the kids hard, worked on technique, and specifically focused on the little details that can be very boring in repetition but can mean the incremental seconds necessary for that close win. We are learning the importance of being able to hang on to the back half when it feels miserable. We are also learning to trust our teammates to be there for us, give 100% effort at practice and at the meets, and how to handle adversity when things don't go as planned. But the kids are trusting the process and there are more big things to come for those who have bought in.

We continue to see time cuts across the board. Those are marked on the meet results included. While some of these are bigger than others, each one represents the work and commitment these kids have put forward in a very challenging season.

We are very, very thankful we have been able to compete safely this season with very minimal disruptions. Our kids and families have made great choices to keep everyone safe and we can't express how thankful we are for the sacrifices everyone is making together to keep us swimming. We have just a few weeks to go - so let's finish it strong!
